Random Spiritual Thought

These are just random thoughts that occur to me at times that I thought I would just make a note of at this time. This page is not for anyone in particular. It's mostly just to note things that I feel could be important to anyone, including myself, so here they are. I'm still learning and these are things that I think about during the day or that reflect my learning so these are not any kind of guidance to speak of, just my thoughts on some things. I have learned over the years that I learn something new just about every day so I try not to say that anything is  "written in stone" because that could change at any time.

What if God is your soul's mate?

How much time would you then spend in your efforts to get closer to Him?

I feel free again for the first time in a very long time. I haven’t felt this good since I was a kid waking up in the morning with the sun shining through the window and the birds singing in the trees.

A wound in the body of Christ heals every time a son or daughter of God comes Home.

It does cost something to be a real Christian, according to the standard of the Bible. There
are enemies to be overcome, battles to be fought, sacrifices to be made, an Egypt to be
forsaken, a wilderness to be passed through, a cross to be carried, a race to be run. The
consequence of not counting the cost at the beginning is that people will fall away ... or
they are in danger of giving up in a spiritual battle for which they are not prepared.

Because you and God are friends, you will spend time together as friends do. Each morning you'll share a hello and a hug and discuss how you can face the day's events together. Throughout the day you'll talk with Him about how you feel. You'll laugh with Him at funny things and ache with Him over sadness and hurts. It's pleasant being God's friend, able to snuggle comfortably into the safety of your relationship. You can always trust Him to treat you well, because He loves you.

If we are uncomfortable being intimate with ourselves then it is difficult to go within to speak to God or Christ within our own heart. We then search for more comfortable ways to find Him such as outside of ourselves in books, gurus, other people, science and other information because of our fear or other reasons. We may find answers and some soothing but we are always left thirsting for more because the well is inside of us. Until we go inside ourselves to find this living water and this connection with ourselves and with God we will always be thirsty.

In times of crisis, after much struggle and looking for the way out, when in that hopeless moment, I completely surrender to God in desperation and say to Him: “Lord, I give up! I am running out of resources. I give myself completely to You. I put myself in Your care -- please embrace me and sooth the pain of my soul”. In that moment, when the surrender is total and sincere, I feel His mighty presence, His care and His love as He mercifully washes all my trouble away, cleanses me of my sorrow, removes the darkness, and makes me feel I am His beloved child. His comforting presence is truly amazing and healing. This really is nothing short of a miracle! And this is always there available for each and every one of us.

I know that my life was a mess without God and that it took me hitting my own rock bottom to “cry for my daddy” so to speak.

Mankind’s suffering is not an accident. It is actually one of the most marvelous tools within God’s Plan of making sons who have developed His character within them. The purpose for every human being’s life is to develop the perfect, holy, righteous character of Almighty God. Suffering is directly tied to building character. Since God is longsuffering, it is also obvious then, that no person is complete in the development of God’s nature and character until he has learned the value of human suffering!

Me personally – I don’t think that God hates anyone. I think that He loves all of His children equally and He does not pick and choose those upon whom He showers His love. He gives it freely to everyone.

In all men there are two natures, an under and an upper nature. Between them there is eternal antagonism. "The flesh lusteth against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary the one to the other." This inward dualism is described by Plato under the figure of two horses, one black, the other white, yoked to the same chariot and pulling in different directions. One or other of these natures is gaining the upper hand. As the one weakens the other strengthens; as the one grows the other decays; as the self-life like the house of Saul declines in power, the Christ-spirit like the house of David waxes stronger and stronger. A vital question then with every man is this: What part of my dual nature is growing? ...         “The Indwelling Christ” by James M. Campbell.

Everything that you need is inside of you.

If, in our orthodox churches, abiding in Christ –the living union with Him, the experience of His daily and hourly presence and
keeping—were preached with the same distinctness and urgency as His atonement and pardon through His blood, I am
confident that many would be found to accept with gladness the invitation to such a life.

Murray, Andrew, Abide in Christ, The Joy of Being in God’s Presence, New Kensington, PA, Whitaker House, 1979, pg.8.

I cannot think of any place that I would rather be more  than with God and Christ. I feel safe. I feel loved. I feel like I found the love, friendships and the relationships that I was searching for my whole life.

This is true because the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom is right application, and right application is obedience. Jesus Christ obeyed God perfectly. His fear was not an occasional burst of deep respect—as ours so often is—but sustained and built throughout His entire life. It had to be this way because His trials intensified as He aged, and His need of godly fear became ever more urgent.

Letting love into my life does not make everything wonderful all of the time but it does make life a lot easier to bear and to get through the tough times. Love doesn’t make all my problems go away but it does make them easier to deal with and live with. Sometimes, I can hardly bear what has happened to me or the things that I see happening in this world and it is only sharing love with someone that helps me get through it and bear it.

I see the Lord raising up a new generation that will walk in his kingdom power, not fighting amongst themselves, not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, not having the personal issues that the enemy has been able to use against individuals in the past, like the need for personal attention to feed insecurity, the need to be liked in the ways of the flesh, the approval of people more than God, these will walk with kingdom power and authority, with the awareness to handle all that comes their way, …

I do feel that we all have an opportunity to expand our spiritual side and become who we truly are and who we were made to be. We always have a choice about where we want to be in our lives. For those who choose to develop the spiritual side I feel that life can be much more satisfying, more loving and more full in all ways.

I put God first in my life and in my day, before everything else.

Pride happens when we don’t feel good about ourselves. This then leads to us wanting to be in control, have power over others, wanting to have lots of money or lots of material goods. It also leads to abusing others, lack of love, not letting others into our lives, anger, frustration and other things. Pride is wanting to be better than others to make ourselves feel better or looking down on others as a way to make us feel better. Other things are involved depending upon the person but pride starts when we try to protect ourselves or put on “masks” such as the perfect person, perfect mom, perfect father, a perfect son, everything always having to be “fine” instead of being able to be real.

Do you get the idea that all of these things stem from us not feeling good about who we are as a person and that none of these things will help us to feel better?

God and Christ are the ones that stayed with me through the tough times and helped me to see that I did matter and that I was worth loving in their eyes and in their hearts. That counts for a whole lot in my book.

Sometimes God lets you hit rock bottom so that you will discover that He is the rock at the bottom.

Do we not reach for the stars because something calls to us?

Do we not crave being close to or on the ocean because it rises and falls in our own hearts?

Do we not love where ocean meets land because that is our very nature or a reflection of the
                        two natures inside of us?

Do we not climb mountains to be closer to ourselves and to God?

Must some reduce us to nothing more than lumps of flesh? Surely we are more than that. I feel it. Many feel it. Listen to your own heart and what it is telling you about what is happening.

Parents ought to understand this. We are pleased by the stumbling efforts of our child to please us. So is God! He looks on our motives, intentions, and the principles involved in what His child is doing. He does not just look at the quantity or the quality—He looks at us as His children, who are trying to imitate Him.

Recall the details mentioned earlier of two oxen working together in the yoke, and then consider how closely Jesus is working with each of us. We need to picture ourselves sharing the same yoke as Jesus, like a couple of oxen with a load to pull. We should also add to this scene God the Father as the teamster, just as we saw in verse 27 that He has given Christ "all things" needed to get the job done. Jesus is right beside us in the yoke, working diligently to guide us and pull His share of the load to ensure that we finish the job.

Someone helped me father the child that is this web site. For that, I am extremely grateful.

It may not be a child in the traditional sense of the word but it is still a child. It is my life and  although the birth was painful I now feel joy that it is presented to the world. It is my life and my legacy in this world.

Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this project possible and who played a part.

Having been raised a Catholic I was brought up with Easter as a religious holiday. Today though, I celebrate Passover for the first time because I wanted to become more familiar with the way that Yeshua/Jesus/Chist was raised. Last night I actually made my own Seder plate and followed the “Haggadah” or guide for the Seder ritual.

Given my own experiences and my desire to include the Biblical holy days in my life from here on out, I discovered that I was very much reminded of just how much a sacrifice God and Christ made for us. Father guided me out of the Egypt in my life in a personal exodus and then showed me how Christ could help bring me back to life.

I read on why Christians celebrate Easter to celebrate the risen Christ and perhaps that is all well and good, given even the pagan rituals associated with the day. However, I personally feel now, having gone through the Seder ritual, that I was long missing out on a very solemn, powerful holy day in it’s own right that was given to us by our Father in Heaven. We may celebrate the risen Christ today but it seems that a very powerful message which God asked us to remember has been forgotten or put aside by many in the world today.  Perhaps if we had not left out the “old” traditions and instead continued to celebrate them, then maybe we would remember the lesson better in our lives. We forget about the Egypt in our world and in our lives in leaving out this holy day and remembrance of our sorrow, great sacrifice and freedom.

I felt happy on Easter but I do not believe that I ever felt such a profound or heartfelt truth of the sacrifice that Christ actually made for us until I observed this Passover. The sacrifice seems to be lost in only celebrating Easter, for me at least.

Life is more than just celebrating.  Sometimes we have sorrow and death and other difficult happenings in our lives. Yes, we all want to be happy, but to me, real living is about living ALL of life and not just about only reaching for that which makes us happy. Heroes make sacrifices. Heroes die and we lose them. People we love die. What do we learn from remembering that someone gave their own life up for us and honoring that gift? Don’t we honor our veterans and the sacrifice that they made? Like anyone who gives their life for another, this seems to be an act which calls for honor and respect and remembering, not forgetting. Perhaps we could reconsider the loss of the “old” traditions and holy days and see them in a different light, as well as how we approach life. Feeling the sorrow and the pain give new meaning to the life and the love that we feel as it makes them all the more cherished in this world where there is so much pain and difficulty. Life is about living it all fully.

For better or worse, do any of us just cut out years of our life and consider them unimportant in any way to how we live our life today?

I was having a very hard day the other day so I went for a walk down by the river.

For the first time in my life, I saw a Canada goose taking a bath in the river. It was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. He was going upside down and loving life.     Bottoms up!

Of all days not to have my video camera.
If you are having a bad day - try a walk outside, in a park, in nature of some sort or watch an animal. You never know what you might see.

Have you ever had or do you ever have one of those “If I died today, I would be okay with it” moments? I never used to have these kinds of thoughts, but now I have them all the time. It’s a great feeling to be so comfortable with where I am in my life that I can feel this way.

Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing, there is a field.

                                                                                    I'll meet you there.

Love is stronger than any other force out there.

This may be hard to understand for some but when you have seen first-hand how powerful God’s love can be, then there is no doubt that it is the strongest force around. It can overcome anything. After all, isn’t that what most of us are looking for above all else. Above being smart, being wealthy or anything else – aren’t most of us looking for love first and foremost in our lives?

Go ahead. Take a chance and see what is here without knowing ahead of time.

Many people have only heard of Bill because of Monica Lewinsky and President Clinton - but I worked for Bill for almost five years. He was one of the most respectful and hard-working men that I ever had the pleasure of working for in this world. Probably my favorite job to date. He needed neither Ms. Lewinsky or Mr. Clinton to make him well-known, well-respected or much loved as he was already all of those things by those who knew him, worked with him or tried a case with him. He was as respectful to the janitor as he was to one of his partners. I don't know anyone else who has ever done thirteen trials back-to-back in one year with the kind of strength that he had in life. Lots of the work he did has helped make the world safer for you and yours in ways you don't even know especially in product safety. We could use more people with that kind of attitude in the world today. I will miss his contributions to the world. My condolences to his family and friends.

Cannot imagine him resting though...he will keep on going no matter where his spirit finds him...Godspeed Bill;_ylt=A0S00MvNiy9SCDsAOTH7w8QF;_ylu=X3oDMTByZWc0dGJtBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDdmlkBHZ0aWQDBGdwb3MDMQ--?p=youtube+taps&vid=a7226fe0abb2223e0b9bfcddb165cc63&l=1%3A22&      Taps

would love for some others to go beyond what I have done in my life and on this site. I freely give you this information so that you can test these things for yourself.  I think that there are so many wonderful things yet to be discovered about ourselves, about our spirituality, about God, about life, about many things....good luck.

I think that each one of us is a musical note in a wonderful symphony that God has created or is creating. I think that we each have a part in that symphony or bit of music that is life. Each of us has a musical note that is unique. Find the musical note that is you and make music in your life. Seeking is part of the fun.

Maybe we needed to go as deeply into materialism and selfishness and serving only ourselves in order to make some of the advances that have been made in centuries past. I have seen some amazing things and scientific advances come from those who serve themselves; however, I do feel that we have reached those limits and are now being called by something higher to take what we have learned and turn it into something bigger or that which serves the whole instead of the one. Maybe it is time to go in another direction and develop the spiritual side of us so that we can become whole instead of feeling so alone.

Try to stay "safe" and you might find that your world becomes smaller and smaller as times passes.

I found not only water on my journey. I found this huge, yummy, chocolate milkshake along the way.

Not only did I quench my thirst, I got dessert as well.

No matter how much truth is in any book, person or teaching, you will never find your thirst quenched completely until you go inside yourself.

The Genesis Code (movie) (fee-based service). Also, buy or rent at

An entertaining movie about science and religion combined. From 1:08:36 to 1:38:05 Creation is explained as it relates to science. Basically, the movie explains that 6 days of Genesis in the Bible = 15,760,000,000 years given the different rates of experiencing time from different perspectives. God created the world in 6 days of His time and it took 15 plus billion years here on earth in our time given currently known physics applications. To me this explanation makes perfect sense the way it is presented. I think this is exciting. I never questioned Genesis but I am thrilled that science explained it in a way that makes sense and especially to those who may not feel that God is real.

Time passes differently in your spiritual body compared to the physical body. Distances can be traveled in the blink of an eye, or seconds, whereas the physical body would take years. For me, the explanation makes perfect sense. When you are out of your physical body time takes on whole new meaning.

For me, in my own experiments and experiences, God = love. Love is a vibration and a frequency which science has already proven. God does exist and He exists in that state of being and love. I need no further explanation for his presence because I can feel Him.

What I felt that I was told that we have to do, more or less, at least in the religion that I grew up in:
Believe and have faith.
That Christ did it for us.
To accept Christ as our savior .
Follow the rules (10 commandments) God gave us.

I feel that I was let down by religion and by life and that is why I was so spiritually devastated and heartbroken. I for one, did not feel prepared for this world by either the church or by society or by how I was brought up without any skills in communication, protecting myself, working with others, etc. I never felt a connection with God through the church really except when I was too little to understand the teachings. I could feel God and that felt very nice and comforting and that was all that mattered to me.

I even went to Catholic school. I don't remember studying the Bible. I don't remember being warned about the dangers out there. I don't remember being prepared for any kind of serious spiritual life. I got a great education as far as schoolwork but what happened to the rest? What happened to real development of the spiritual side of my life? I received the sacraments and studied for confirmation but what about all the other years. I went to church just about every Sunday and the priest read the gospels and other things and gave the sermon but I don't know about any really hands-on study of some things and I feel that this could have been or can be done better. Why were we never taught how to really have a personal relationship with Christ and God?

What I feel that I needed to do personally to break the bonds of earth. I am not perfect in any sense and I struggle every day but these are my feelings.

Surrender to God. In my uttermost brokenness this is where I found my soul soothed.
Repent, apologize and ask for forgiveness. I was forgiven. This allows me to move forward and get out of bondage.
Love God and put Him first and have a personal relationship with God. This gives me strength and purpose as well.
Accept Christ into my life as savior.
Study His words to help to know Him better.
Follow Christ and His example of how to overcome.
Follow God’s rules as best I can even if I am not perfect.
Surrender my will to the will [love] of God - there is a difference between humility and letting people walk all over me.
Overcome the personal demons inside of me – fear, anger, lust, greed, pride, laziness, envy, hate …. and I work on this daily.
Stand up to evil in my own way by speaking or writing about my experiences and about God in my life. The strength to do this
comes from my relationship with God.
Living a life based on the rules given to us and a faith in God. Living every moment of my life to the best of my ability by following
God and not just on Sunday. Church is any place and any time I am connected to God.
There is real strength to be found in the example of the cross, learning from our suffering, facing our difficulties finding understanding in why life happens the way that it does sometimes. Much, much joy can come out of the ashes of a life of hardship and suffering.

It is in the crucible of suffering that our spirits are refined and we become like God.

                                                                        Love is the fire.

It is how we become grown sons and daughters of God.

Love of God and Christ makes this possible and bearable.
Suffering and love bring all that is not of God to the surface and with love it is
replaced with those qualities that are of God and of Christ.

"The renewal of our natures is a work of great importance. It is not to be done in a day. We have not only a new house to build up, but an old one to pull down. "

--- George Whitefield, in a letter.

Christian thought has concerned itself almost exclusively with the idea of outward substitution; that is, the substitution of the sufferings and death of Christ for man's offenses. It has looked upon Christ as taking the sinner's place; being wounded for his transgressions, and bruised for his iniquities; but has in too large a measure overlooked the equally important doctrine of inward substitution; that is, the substitution of Christ for self, the substitution of the new man for the old man, the substitution of Christ's will for man's will, of Christ's power for man's impotence, of Christ's righteousness for man's sinfulness. With the idea of Christ taking the sinner's place ought to be connected the idea of Christ taking His place in the sinner. “The Indwelling Christ” by James M. Campbell.

How to teach yourself to be one with life, with yourself, with God…. maybe

Try to learn to FEEL everything that life and this world has to offer. Learn to feel your joy, your sorrow, your grief, your pain, your love, your compassion, your anger, your hate, your laughter, your love. Feel God. Let your body and soul breathe with God. Let your heart beat with God. Learn to hear. Learn to SEE life. LIVE. TASTE. TOUCH ... and all with the heart and with a connection with God. Ask God to come into your life and your heart and your body. Learn to feel the very energy of your body and your feelings. Let your feelings sound out. SMELL the flowers. Watch them grow. Be a part of life that is all around you. See this world and those in it. Engage instead of sitting on the sidelines. Love. Laugh. Hope. Share. Care. Give. SING. Feel the music. HEAR the music. LET GO, let go of pride, of rage, of hurt and all that is not love. This will bring all of your cares and all of your fears and everything to the surface for healing, for cleansing, for love, for laughter, for safety, for sharing, for LETTING GOD LOVE US, for belonging, for service, for payment, for humility, for freedom, for existence, for life, for wholeness, for spirit.

Love is all that you need to have a relationship with God.  Try love.

I have only felt this oneness a couple of times but this is how I do it. Might work for you. Might not. The only way you will find out is by getting in touch with your own self and your own heart and the Creator. Because it is so amazing I work on these things and overcoming my fear every day. I learn something new every day. It is wonderful, scary, difficult, peaceful, loving, learning, sobering, humbling and many other things, but never short of amazing. I wish you all love and peace and life - every day. May you live instead of survive. May you live and love and find wholeness in your life as well as reunion with your spirit and that of God. Shalom.

What kept me away from God in the first place? I didn’t think that I was good enough to be loved by Him.

I was mistaken for He shows me that I am loved no matter what I have done or think that I have done. I am forgiven. I am loved. I still don’t understand completely this kind of love but it is there for any one of us at any time.

The thing about going inside one’s own heart, body and soul to find God is that much is revealed by God to those who search for God in His time and their own time and in the way it should be revealed to each person. It is very much about an individual relationship with God and that is why nobody can do it for you. When you are ready you will look more closely for Him inside of you. That is where you can find your answers and where He will reveal Himself to you – inside of yourself and in relationship with Him are to be found the secrets that you will only know through the going within your own heart. Yes, much is revealed in the holy books but there are certain things that one will not see or know, understand or find out unless they go within or develop a personal relationship with God. It all depends upon when you are ready and everyone is different. What I see or what is shown to me may not or will not be true for you in many instances and that is why nobody can tell you how to find God completely. It seems to be different for everyone and it is very much a unique, special and precious journey for each soul and spirit.

What I also found was a much bigger understanding of the teachings in the holy books and the Bible by having a personal relationship with God. Nowhere else have I been able to reach this level of understanding of the teachings other than by going within, feeling everything and having a relationship with God and Christ. I believe that God will show you the way but one must seek Him out.

With God was the one place where I found that I was supported and loved for the unique soul that I am and God was the only one, besides Christ, who knew exactly how to reach my soul and spirit with His love. I didn’t find this anywhere else and I only found it by going to my own spirit and to God directly. I didn’t think that I could ever be fixed because I was so broken but they have managed to heal some things that I thought could never be healed. Wow! That is pretty amazing for me and something very special. I respect them for who they are and what they show me in a personal way. Like any relationship it is easy at times, hard at others and so many other things. It does require a commitment, time and effort like any other relationship but it is one which I am very glad that I took the time to try to develop. I wouldn’t have it any other way now. The things that I have seen and experienced have answered so many questions for me and healed so many of my wounds and given me a sense of belonging, of protection, of peace, of safety and most importantly, of grace, of love and forgiveness, as well as many other things. I cannot ask for more because these very things are so important to me.

You are free to agree with me – or not. That is the whole purpose of this site. It is to help you think about life and we all see things differently. The reason that I say to go to God yourself is because God knows the truth and He will not lie to you. So if there are questions that you would like to have answered then that is where your answers will be found. I never say that I am 100% perfect in all this or in what I say because I am learning just like you or anyone else in this regard. Lots of this is new territory for all of us and there is much to be learned if we can all start to have a personal relationship with our Creator instead of fighting with each other about our differences. He has much to teach all of us if we will listen that can help change this world to a better place. If we all pretty much agree that there is a God then go to Him for your answers, no matter what your personal beliefs. Ask Him yourself the questions that you have in your own mind. He had the answers that I was seeking but it took me learning how to listen clearly and get out of the way for me to hear them.

It's time to get up and be who you are. Wake up. Get up. Stand up.

God shows me what I need to know every step of the way. If I would not have had any holy book to read or knew anything else, God showed me the way that He wants me to walk. He gives me everything that I need. He gives me guidance in all ways, direction and support.

If I didn’t have any belongings whatsoever and not a penny to my name, He would give me what I needed out of a personal relationship with Him.

If I repeat something it means that I feel it is important.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
